Lenses Explained

Choosing a correct lens is very important to both your eyes and glasses and we recommend you to select lenses with higher index, lightness, thinness and strength if your financial allows.

The number before lenses, e.g. 1.56, 1.61 and 1.67, means the level of index of the lenses. for the same strength of prescription, lenses with higher index are thinner, lighter and stronger. for semi-rim and rimless frames, high index lenses are highly recommended as considering the thickness of the lens, life time of the glasses and safety of your eyes.

For customers with overall prescription strength from -2.50 to +2.50, we recommend 1.56 thin lenses + free anti-reflection scratch-resistant coating or lenses with higher index.

For customers with overall prescription strength from -4.50 to -2.75 or from +2.75 to +4.50, we recommend 1.61 thinner lenses + free anti-reflection scratch-resistant uv400 anti-radiation coating or lenses with higher index.

For customers with overall prescription strength from -7.00 to -4.75 or from +4.75 to +7.00, we recommend 1.67 extra thin lenses + free anti-reflection scratch-resistant uv400 anti-radiation coating or lenses with higher index.

For customers with overall prescription strength higher than +7.25 or lower than -7.25, we highly recommend 1.74 ultra thin lenses + free anti-reflection scratch-resistant uv400 anti-radiation coating or lenses with higher index.

Tinted/colour lenses are very fashionable and popular but long-time wearing tinted lenses indoor could damage your vision and eyes. we have photochromic transition lenses which is clear when stay indoors and will become colored/tinted when go outdoor under sunshine. tinted lenses are available in brown, grey, blue, purple and the darkness can be 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.

Polycarbonate lenses are extra strong and lighter than normal lenses, especially suitable for sports and children.

Polarised prescription lenses are ideal and highly recommended for driving and fishing. the lenses eliminate 99.9% of glare from horizontal surfaces such as roads, water and snow, making your vision more truthful and clear.
